Concrete Sidewalks & Walkways in Marysville, WA
A well-built walkway does more than connect two points. It needs to drain properly, hold up to foot traffic in wet weather, and match the grade of your property. Marysville Concrete Pro installs entry walkways, garden paths, and connector sidewalks across Marysville and Snohomish County.
What’s Included in a Walkway Project
- Layout. We map the path based on how you actually use the space, keeping grade changes and drainage in mind.
- Excavation and base prep. The path is excavated to depth and a compacted base is set for stability and drainage.
- Forming and reinforcement. Forms follow the planned layout, with reinforcement added for wider walkways or areas with heavier foot traffic.
- Pouring and finishing. A broom finish is standard on walkways for slip resistance, especially important in a climate with frequent rain.
- Control joints. Joints are placed at regular intervals to manage shrinkage cracking along the length of the path.
Building Walkways for Wet Weather
Slip resistance matters more here than in drier climates, given how often walkways are wet. We finish walkways with a broom texture for traction and grade them to shed water to the side rather than let it pool along the path, a common issue with older, flatter walkways that weren’t sloped correctly to begin with.
What Affects the Cost of a Walkway
Walkway cost depends mainly on length and width, thickness, and any grade changes or drainage work needed along the route. Curved or multi-section paths generally take more labor than a simple straight run. We’ll detail all of this in your written estimate.

Walkway FAQs
What finish do you recommend for a walkway?
A broom finish is standard for walkways because of the traction it provides in wet conditions. Stamped or decorative finishes are also available if you’d rather match a patio or entry feature.
Can you match my walkway to my existing driveway or patio?
We’ll do our best to match finish and color, though some variation between separately-poured sections is normal.
How do you handle uneven ground along the path?
We plan grade changes into the layout, sometimes with a gentle slope, sometimes with a step, rather than forcing a flat pour over uneven terrain.
Do walkways need control joints too?
Yes, joints are placed at regular intervals along any walkway length to manage shrinkage cracking, the same as with driveways and patios.
